The report states that ‘having an accountant manage cash flow, advise on investments and help navigate the unique challenges of one’s industry can have a dramatic impact on a company’s potential to succeed.’ Researchers found that ‘from helping businesses stimulate higher revenue and avoid fines and penalties, to elevating the confidence and wellbeing of the individuals who work there, accounting professionals can be a powerful ally, especially in trying times.’ In fact, they concluded that small and medium-sized businesses using accounting and bookkeeping services experienced an average 11.5% increase in revenue and saved 9 hours each week that would otherwise be spent on finance management. So, whilst it may be considered an unnecessary or luxury expense by some, the research shows that combining forces with an accountant pays, both in time and in cold hard cash.
